    BIN 54

I recently went to dinner at Bin 54 in chapel hill.

    OVERALL REVIEW:

    • Good Food
    • Great Wine
    • Nice atmosphere
    • Too expensive for what you get

    Items we had:

    • Pear soup (very good)
    • Mixed green salad (fine, but nothing special)
    • Spinach and Ricotta (very good)
    • French Fries (YUMMY)
    • Risotto (good)
    • Filet Mignon (very good)
    • Lamb special (o.k., nothing great and it was $42)
    • Chocolate trio dessert (very good)
    • Coffee (FABULOUS)

I recommend checking out the menu online before going. I am glad we checked it out, but would return to other favorites like Nana's and Magnolia Grill next time. Smile

Best unknown steak place - Metro 8.

So I liked Bin54 a bit less than Shelley - and I thought it was way overpriced. But Ralitza and Sami pointed us in a new direction, and we are very happy!

12 of us went to Metro 8 last night - it's an Argentine steakhouse on 9th street here in Durham.

    • Nice ambiance in main dining room - and a separate dining room for parties and stuff
    • Great Mojitos and Caprihianas
    • Good/cheap appetizers (grilled chorizo was nice for $4, hot spinach dip was nice for $7.50)
    • The steaks were terrific - and much much better value than Bin54
      • 16oz Churrasco (skirt steak) w/awesome chimichurri sauce - $21 (delicious)
      • Half portion Churrasco - $14
      • 28oz bone-in Cowboy Ribeye (delicious)
    • Sides were tasty too
      • Sauteed Broccolini (delicious)
    • Super friendly owners!

    Check here for reviews.

Check here for their Web site.

    Check here for directions.

Go visit - and tell them that Sami, Ralitza, and Jeff sent you.
